Re: Adelaide United v CC Mariners Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I think the rubbish pitch will hurt CCM's game more than ours. Although keeping switched on at the back will be as crucial as ever.

Re: Sydney FC

The A-League is a mile off the pace compared to the other Asian leagues. The gap is only going to get bigger.

Is Dzengis a definite inclusion?
No teams won't be out til Thursday.

But he arrived at a good time with two weeks to acclimatise.

Expecting him to make the bench.

Re: Who's signed for next season

I reckon he would have to be injured. I got the impression he was clear first choice for Kurz when fit.

Re: Who's signed for next season

I've followed this club and league long enough to know that it's impossible to know how a player will fare until they take the pitch. I'm impressed by his size, he looks fairly mobile and can score from either side or with his head. Proof will be in the pudding. Hopefully he gets on the bench for th...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Just confirmed via member email:

Adelaide United is excited to announce the signing of Slovenian striker, Džengis Čavušević, until the end of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

Can we assume Baba is out the door then?
Well not necessarily.

We don't need the extra spot as Matmour freed one up.

And if Kurz wants to play a 4-4-2 then one of Baba or Blackwood can partner this new bloke.

Although I'd suspect based on Baba's injury record he is cooked.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

Right now we need a bloke who can hit the target, we are getting enough chances.
Thought OD has been showing some real promise in that 'number 10' role at the moment. Certainly growing in stature each week.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

I will die on the hill thinking we need a 10 much more than another striker, but our inactivity has gone on long enough that any warm body with two functioning arms and legs will be very welcome

Re: Aleague wooden spoon play off

I like the concept.

In my example you have 10th finish 10 points below 9th but 10th win a playoff to avoid the spoon. Seems a bit harsh on 9th for being better all season.

But you are right something is definitely needed to keep interest alive.
