Re: 2026 North America - AFC Qualifiers

I'm slowly build a case (and a small fortune) for my family to go. Brazil would have been the best one to go to, but I'm sure the yanks and co will put on a good show! I think dropping my wife and daughters off at Disneyland on my way down to catch a game in Mexico will be a win for all!

Re: HAL Expansion

IMO 14 teams is enough to put a hold on ALM expansion for the time being. Unless an option arrives that the league can't ignore. That gives us 26 games where everyone plays home and away, (which isn't enough but at least makes the comp fairer). Then focus on building the 2nd Div with clubs being far...

Re: AUFC: Back in Asia?

Yes bring back Asian Football! I'm concerned about the viability of it all. But if that's all covered it would be awesome to see. Looks as though the comp will be very region oriented. So AL clubs will only play ASEAN clubs until the "inter-zone" semis. So in theory this is the ASEAN Club Comp I've ...

Re: Zach Clough

Petrilo still at city and doing a great job, like he did at AU. Perhaps a bigger loss than we realised at that time. IMO there is no one who has made a bigger mark on the club on or off the pitch. The training centre was thanks to him. That provided the club with regularly match fit players like Ca...

Re: RE: Re: A-League Men 2022/23

Having read the joint statement from all the supporter groups … I must say I’m not impressed … at all. A dismissive comment about the violence, which expresses … no concern for the cameraman, referee or player who were injured …. no acknowledgement of the damage done to the game and the impact on e...

I think if that final went any better it would have had to be scripted!

Re: A-League Men 2022/23

Is the figure $10m? Seems like such a small figure to cast such a big taint on the game. Maybe this is the game's opportunity to see a fan lead rejection of the finals series. The game needs to celebrate the club who ends the season with the most points more. Finals rarely bring new people into the ...

Left out of the squad against Victory for being late to team meetings and shirking his off-field duties.
I've never met Carl, but I seriously doubt he would be a person you want to be on the wrong side of!

Hopefully Nestory has copped his punishment and is back to feature as well.
I missed that. What happened?

Re: Preview: Roar v Reds 9 Dec 2022

I'm really excited to see what sort of crowds we see. The A-League has never had games on so close to a World Cup.
I'm going to tip Goody won't feature too heavily. He's too important to risk.

Re: World Cup Watch - AU Represents

I'd love to see the game come up with a marketing strategy along the tone of this classic quote that Marilyn probably didn't even say. https://www.azquotes.com/picture-quotes/quote-if-you-don-t-love-me-at-my-worst-then-you-don-t-deserve-me-at-my-best-marilyn-monroe-53-15-07.jpg If you're someone who...

Re: RE: Re: World Cup Watch - AU Represents

I thought McGree might break out this WC, so far he's not there. Goody however, etching his name in to our best of all time. Great lad too. McGree's been a bit disappointing hasn't he. His general play has been good - linking, turning, tracking back, creating space for others. But we haven’t seen a...

Re: Qatar 2022

Oh yeah!!!! Can’t wait. A draw would be an amazing result. A loss by a single goal (considering it’s the current world champions) would be ok.. Yes pretty happily take a 1-0 loss to be honest. I don't think there is any coming back from a 4-0 thrashing. Hopefully there are a few early tournament ne...

I wonder if they are releasing the tickets in waves? Pretty surprised to see every game pretty much sold out.
I hope I haven't missed my chance!

Re: Coopers Stadium

I might be in the minority on this but I was relatively underwhelmed by what I experienced on the weekend. I know it's not completely finished so some things might get better but: 1. Could barely hear the PA system. It looks like only half the new grandstand had speakers so that will probably get b...
