Re: 2019 Asian Cup

Awer Mabil taking up another cause, mental health. Far out, the kid will be Prime Minister of Oz one day! I wonder if that's a bit of Bruce's influence? He and Ian Smith took part in Awer's campaign to head back to Kenya to help people. So wonderful to see him firing for the Socceroos. He has re-en...

WATRs Player of the 2018/19 Season - HAL R13

Unlucky not to jag something late on! I only managed to catch the last 30 mins but it looked like AU deserved a point.

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

One thing I will say though, is how humorous it is to see Troisi fail to stand up. Bitched about not making the NT but when his team needs him he trails behind Antonis and gets schooled by Isa. Yeah I have been quite a big fan of his in season's past, I've always felt if he could just settle at a d...

Re: The Next Coach of AUFC

According to Val. He's contracted for 2 seasons so it seems extremely unlikely. I wouldn't mind us going for an ex-NPL coach though if we are going to change. Would be nice to have an Australian coach 12/13 was the last season AU had one. If Viddie and Ante Kovacevic (who I believe is still with th...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I very much doubt AU would be sitting on their hands on this. Elsey and Jakobsen are available this week so the club has at least 8 days till the WSW game to get a recruit organised.

Re: Who's signed for next season

AP and Richards linked to WMG I imagine a lot of players will be linked with WMG. Excellent chance for player's agents to drive their client's price up with 23 new positions to fill. I hope for the HAL sake the expansion sides add value to the league by bringing a good percentage of their signings ...

Re: Preview: Sydney v AUFC 13/01/2019

Glad to see Boland finally back in. AU need some international flavour in the centre of the park..... Happy to give him a couple of weeks to get back up to speed as its pretty important he begins to show something for the club. For all the criticism Ilso cops, at least he's been able to play a decen...

Re: Who's signed for next season

The question is, will Kurz see that vision ?? Coaches often think of the now, I mean it's their job. A lot of coaches have a dialled back role where they are only concerned with getting the best results possible with the squad they have been given. Like any job you can always ask your boss for more...

Re: Who's signed for next season

As promising as it is to hear Vidmar talk like that.... it's just talk. We need action now. Why now? https://twitter.com/AdelaideUnited/status/1082952439605604352 As good as tonight was, Victory were missing their 2 best CBs and the best player in the league. We can celebrate tonight but we are a w...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Looking at the coming games for AU and rivals. This was a massive win. Melb City are now only a point ahead, but they have a game in hand which is CCM away. They then play Brissy at home. So keeping ground on them is important. Nix play CCM after that so keeping close to them is equally important. B...

Kurz on Isaias when asked how happy he is to have a player like him in the team ...
I'm happy with him but more happy when he does not dribble in the 18yard box ...

Love it.
That scared the hell out of me too!

Re: Who's signed for next season

Vidmar mentioned in a pre game interview that the long term is priority. Stating they prefer signing a new striker on a 2 plus year deal but if they cannot find the right guy ( age/quality ) permitting they will look for a 6 month contract or loan deal. I would imagine keough and fornaroli may be s...
