Re: AUFC 2015 State League Season
It was bad. His foot was pointing in a direction it shouldn't. There was a paramedic at the game and he advised against moving the player until the ambulance had arrived.

Re: AUFC 2015 State League Season
Reserves game called off 15 minutes in at 0-0. Nicko A. tackled and suffered a broken leg. It was a clean challange, the cove player won the ball and the referee had played on. It was just a freak accident. I heard the referee say to the Cove player on the way to the tunnel "if the ball wasn't there...

Re: Adelaide United v Brisbane Roar Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Tonight's game will be a real test - not of if we've improved or not in possession-opposition possession transition - but of how we actually shape defensiely up when the opponent maintains possession for large periods of time. Other teams haven't been able to grasp real possession against us because...

Re: Training: Give me your questions.
Something I posted on Football News during the Melbourne Heart game went something along the line of; The only issue with the defensive line is the fact they struggle to play out from the back. Defensively, when the opposition settle in possession, we are sound. How many goals had we concided this s...

Re: Where are we going
Watching that only further strengths my belief in Gombau. A month ago we created 0 chances - yesterday we created 22. That's a massive improvement. Players need to start putting the ball in the back of the net and stop making awful defensive mistakes. They, individually, are making Pep look a fool. ...

Re: Melbourne Victory forum hacked
Was wondering why it stopped working about 45 mins ago.
Pity, it's actually a really good forum for news/rumors and is full of lols. The blokes on there are hilarious.
Hope it gets sorted

Re: United training reports.
Coaching coaches the philosophy is as important as coaching players. Just look at Barca: all first team coaches are promoted from within the club because it ensures consistency

Re: United training reports.
All remains to be seen... I wonder that if the situation arises that this 'Barcelona' 'tiki taka' style is impossible whether Gombau will be able to adapt the style to suit both the players currently in the squad and with an eye to the future. Is a Barca-inspired system which is adapted to suit the...

Re: Preseason Matches & Lineup Speculation
Everything the bloke coaches is Barca 101; shape, movement, passages of play, etc. That's something I do know an aweful lot about as I've spent considerable time studying it and coaching possession based football. Obviously you think Bruce needs a fair bit of work to make the team. Val reckons this...

Re: Preseason Matches & Lineup Speculation
Thoughts at half time: - Malik can't play this style. - Ferreira is one of the fastest running with a ball I've seen. - Djite a bit rusty but playing well. -Watson in the midfield has been flawless at dictating tempo. He played in Portugal in his younger days? Might do ok. - Our new #17 looks good....

Re: Fyfe to Iran?
Both Fyfe and Boogard need to go. Fyfe can't pass and Boo is prone to mistakes under pressure, neither are desirable traits in a centre back playing this system.

Re: United training reports.
Anyone who knows a thing or two about football already know exactly how United intend to play.Sounds great.
I bet opposition scouts would also be interested in what's going on at AU.
United have to be so good at it that it's almost untouchable - eg Brisbane 2011
