Re: New Owners?

I hope that Pelligra develops a training centre like the setup at Western Sydney Wanderers next to Coopers Stadium. Six pitches, gymnasium, medical facilities, indoor training/futsal courts, facilities for women and girls and ,importantly, facilities to house an academy etc. This can be the stepping...

Re: Who's signed for next season

sub007, Harry Van Der Saag's best position is apparently centre back, even though he has usually played in the right back position. Watching him at Cooper's Stadium, I always thought that he was pretty solid defensively. He could be a shrewd signing as he is definitely an A-League standard player.

Re: Zach Clough

EdDog, I just want to confirm that Zach Clough did negotiate a free transfer and that he was still under contract until 2023. I agree with the fact that, at 26 years of age, that he is a better fit than Diego Castro. To any Red Army members on this forum. Football people in the UK have told me that ...

Re: Adelaide United v Sydney FC Match day Jamboree!!!©

Clear penalty. The Sydney player had his arms around Hiroshi and prevented him from going for the ball. If you have any doubt, ask yourself would that have been paid as a free kick outside the penalty area? Of course it would have! Why do Sydney always seem to get the better of the refereeing decisi...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I must point out that most of his football has been at Championship and League 1 level. It is only in the last year that he has been in League 2. My only concern is that he is injury prone. He seems to be a highly rated and an exciting player. It could turn out to be a transfer coup. He negotiated a...

Re: New Owners?

Please add the old Wakefield Hospital and a few office towers in the CBD to the list of investments that Pelligra has made. He is also involved in the Crows quest for a training base and with Gupta's developments in Whyalla. He has said that there is at least twenty years of economic growth in South...

Re: New Owners?

As Bruce Djite said in his Ten News interview, Pelligra is the perfect type of owner. He is passionate about sport and has invested heavily in South Australia. The state benefits with his investment in sport and property development. He has a vested interest in the state, so he would invest his mone...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne City Match Day Jamboree!!!©

That was an opportunistic goal by Hiroshi! It is far too early to judge him on his brief cameo. United fans can just hope that he has the quality to score consistently. Promising debut.

Re: Who's signed for next season

I agree with you EdDog. Don't forget that we have also signed two excellent local NPL players in Asad Kasumovic and Lachlan Barr from Adelaide City. I reserve judgement on the Japanese striker, but he must have something if he can play in the J-League and in Spain. I realize that he has only played ...

Re: Who's signed for next season

At least AU didn't go for Kazu Miura who is 54 years of age. Would you believe he is still playing? He has just signed for a Japanese fourth division club. Lol. On a different note, Castro would be a good signing. However, Shinji Kagawa, the 32 year old ex-Dortmund and Manchester United player, is n...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Val M has tweeted that the striker that we are targeting/come to an agreement with, is Hiroshi Ubusuki, a 30 year old Japanese striker who plays in J-League 1 with Shimuzu S-Pulse. He is 195cm tall!! He has played in Spain with clubs like Sevilla, Valencia, Girona and others. He will be free on Febr...

Re: Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Although they dominated a lot of that game, we had the best chances with the Tratt headers. I must say that we were robbed with the disallowed goal. There was no way that Mauk impeded their keeper. He was under the keeper who actually tried to leapfrog him. It was Mauk's momentum carrying him throug...

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I reckon that Covid and the fear of transmission is a big part of the drop off in attendance numbers. The longer the pandemic goes the more that the habit of attending games is disrupted and people find alternative ways of attending to their interests. For example, watching on TV. In some cases, the...

Re: Who's signed for next season

What do football fans think of Nahuel Bonada, the attacking midfield triallist? He has played locally for West Adelaide and Metrostars, so what do football fans that have seen him play, think. I haven't seen him play, but a mate has said that he deserves an opportunity at A-League level. Your commen...

Is the player on trial Alex Baumjohann? We do need an attacking midfielder.
