Re: Adelaide United v Western United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

This was the performance that we've all been waiting for since October; yes, it really has been that long since we looked like the AUFC that we all know and love. I hope that this quells some of the nonsense swirling around CV and his future in the job. He has taken us to just one win from a GF in t...

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Zero expectations fulfilled. Too much churn for us to turn in consistent results.

In our championship season, we had a highly settled team and a miraculous run of few injuries - and hardly anybody left. Time to start thinking about next season and what shape the team will be in then.

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I reckon this is the point at which we say "time to think about next season." I think we have had to too much churn to make a serious challenge this season.

I hope that I'm wrong, but my expectations are at zero.

Re: Adelaide United v Perth Glory Match Day Jamboree!!!©

A very strange game, for so many reasons. It does feel like 2 points dropped, but then given how leaky our midfield has been (which then puts the extra pressure on the backline), maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Mauk gives us that bit of mongrel that we have lacked over the past 12 months or so. We...

Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Given that we are Kryptonite to MC Petrodollars, this should be a routine win to us - but we have chopped and changed the side so much over the past 6 weeks, I'm not sure that we can go on past form.

Cut off the service to McLaren though - if he is even playing - and we should be OK.

Re: Unite Round

It's a good idea, but it could have been better promoted by the APL, which looks like it has dropped the ball again. Making AUFC wear an away strip for our supposed 'home' game was yet another own goal by them. The AFL Gather Round was a sell out in South Australia. I couldn't even get a ticket for ...

Re: Adelaide United v Sydney FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Such a strange game to watch. We should have been 3 - 0 down after the first 15 minutes, but thanks to Sadney's calamitously bad shooting, it was only 1 - 0. Once our first one went in, I was then confident that we would go on to win. We had our swagger back and we were finally controlling the centr...

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

The chants were directed at the ref. Everyone assumed that because he was so bad, he must be Victorian - and a filth supporter too, the lowest of the low.

In fact, I think he may be English, but living in Victoria.

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

I think also the interstate (non SA) refs are told explicitly to ignore the Coopers crowd, to take our passion out of their decision making. I can understand that, if that really is the refs' policy, but then why does it not apply in Melbourne or Sydney? It does seem like they go out of their way to...

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

The match was like a summary of our entire season - brilliant in patches, frequently open and exposed at the back, Nestory creating mayhem, defensive lapses gifting goals. All the parts are there for a really strong, dynamic and highly attractive team, but the parts are not quite firing all at the s...

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Any one of the 3 possible outcomes could happen here tonight. I have no idea which one will eventuate. On paper, we should be all over the Cows, but we let them back in when we played at the cow paddock and they stole a win they did not deserve. Let's hope that we hit them hard first and then don't ...

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix Match Day Jamboree!!!©

So many good things about last night ... 28 shots on goal tells its own story. A fairer result would have been 4 - 2 our way, but I'll take the point. I don't really understand how Wellington are top of the table. Tactically, they are a generation behind. Sit back and absorb the press and then hoof ...

Re: A-League Men 2023/24

An unbelievable result, especially given that a. we belted MC Petrodollars 5 - 0 on the opening weekend and b. the Meow should have had the 'new gaffer bounce', with Ross Aloisi leaving suddenly and Luciano Troini stepping up. Astonishing.
