Re: Melbourne City v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

After seeing the replay, it all really heated up after the City's GK coach put his hand on Mauk's throat.

Yeah Strebre has ejected him to the stands.

We are 2-0 up and need to cool it.

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Yeah, maybe he did. My memory isn't as sharp as it used to be. Also I might have overlooked those things because I was in awe of his work rate and energy from day 1. I just used to watch him charging around the pitch, demanding the ball, pointing at spaces he wanted players to move into, lisping and...

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Honestly, Isa was rubbish when he first came for a long time.

Most important player in the team now though.
I disagree with the first statement. I thought Isaias directed play from day 1, but the rest of the team weren't on the same wavelength.

I agree with the second statement.

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©

While I thought Green was generally pretty good yesterday I thought his failure to protect Carrusca was poor. Sydney was clearly targeting him and Green should have used the Yellow more and sent Smeltz off. I also thought he was inconsistent in his interpretation of what constituted a Yellow. Sydney...

Re: Who's signed for next season

I'd rather La Rocca as defensive midfielder than Isa. Even though I think Isiais was our best player last season, I feel this season while doing okay he is trying to go for the long passes too much and turning the ball over. The last 2 games without Isa out and Mells in his spot playing short simpl...

Re: Adelaide United v Melbourne City Match Day Jamboree!!!©

(Assuming Carrusca wasn't injured it wasn't injured,) Taking Carrusca off wasn't what annoyed me, it's the resulting shift of Cirio into a central role, which has to have been tried 20/30 times by now and has been a positive change on zero occasions, at most. Also this was the first time I've been ...

Re: WATRs Player of the 2015/16 Season - HAL R22

McGowan, Elsey, Marrone, Mauk, Kamau, Goodwin all locals. Four of them could have taken votes this game. Marrone and Elsey not quite on the money for votes but had good games anyway. Elsey struggled early when put at LB but got on top of it eventually.

Re: Wellington Phoenix v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!

A couple of things Wellington got away with in the game that I don't think has been mentioned, did anyone else notice? Goodwin wrongly called off side when he was through on goal with Kamau. It was very tight and understandable why he was flagged, but he was actually level with the Phoenix full bac...

Re: Georgevski cleared for two footed challenge on goody

Surely by now we all know there are different rules for different clubs. It's laughable really, but if Georgevski was in a red shirt he would have got 3 weeks. La Rocca in blue would have got off.

You know it's true.

Re: van dijk - REDEMPTION

I remember the time he sprinted off the field mid game for a toilet break and got booked when he came back on.

He laughed it off. We all did.

Be good to have him back.

Re: Preview: Perth Glory v Adelaide United 9/01/16

Bruce is always 2nd to the ball. If he was sharper he might have had 2 goals already. 23 minute mark - couldn't hit the target from 12 metres out. If he's always second to the ball how did he get possession to shoot? Also played the cf role perfectly to set up that goal. He had a good first half of...

Re: Is Bruce Djite in trouble?

Im no soccer expert, I love the game, have watched it all my life, played a little bit (mostly indoor), so don't flame me for being ignorant, but can anyone explain what Bruce's role is, and does Sanchez do anything different when he subs in? From what I can tell, what Sanchez usually does when he ...

Re: Is Bruce Djite in trouble?

Incidentally: Djite had his most prolific goal scoring period at Gold Coast while in partnership with Smeltz Ah the good old days of "strike partners". Now it's a lone front man with wingers buzzing around him. That's ok if you have a Berisha banging in goals, but a problem if it's a Bruce. Maybe t...
