Re: 2016 Asian Champions League
Sydney are 1-1 at the moment. No ACL for me here, just the AFC Cup (due to two Filipino sides still being in the comp - well one now that Ceres bowed at to South China last night). Johor v Kaya tonight
2016 Asian Champions League
Sydney are now 2-1 up but down to 10 men and conceded a penalty.
Janjetovic saves and makes up for his fumble leading to the penalty.
And turns out the Shandong attacker was offside so should not have been a penalty or a red...

Shandong with an 89th minute screamer to make it 2-2!!!
They will progress on the away goals rule.

Re: 2016 Asian Champions League
A couple of interesting results in the 1st leg of the Quarters:
West Zone:
Al-Ain (UAE) had a 0-0 draw with Lokomtiv Tashkent which leaves the Uzbeks in the driving seat.
El-Jaish (QTR) 0-3 Al-Nasr (UAE)
East Zone:
Shanghai SIPG 0-0 Jeonbuk Motors. The boys in lurid green will be humming with that result.
FC Seoul - Shandong Luneng 3-1. No real surprises there; FC Seoul have looked the best balanced side in the ACL for a few seasons now and it's only the odd dazzling performance from a Chinese-side import that's brought them undone.
In all the Koreans are in the drivers seat and we may, just may, have a chance of seeing an Uzbek side in the final.
Second leg is Sep 14.

Re: 2016 Asian Champions League
it turned out that Al-Nasr had a player who was born in Brazil and had acquired a fake Indonesian passport. Their 3-0 win was taken away and they were handed a 0-3 loss which effectively knocked them out of the ACL.
On the Eastern side the Koreans had no problems accounting for the Chinese clubs and an all South Korean semi awaits.
