Women's World Cup 2023

Very excited for this tournament! I've got my Hindmarsh Stadium super pass - matches in Adelaide are:

July 24 - Brazil v playoff winner (Taiwan - sorry, 'Chinese Taipei', Paraguay, PNG or Panama

July 28 - China v playoff winner (Chile, Senegal or Haiti)

July 30 - South Korea v Morocco

Aug 1 - China v England

Aug 8 - R16, 1F v 2H

Given how supportive a football city Adelaide is, it's kind of a bummer that we don't get any Matildas, and no matches past the Round of 16.

England and Brazil games are huge gets.

We are never going to outbid the eastern states for Matilda's games. Not how the SA gov't operates.

Tickets for Hindmarsh (yes, they still call it that on the FIFA website) all sold out before lunchtime after going on sale today.

Just a few behind each goal available for the Korea v Morroco game :(

That is absolutely fantastic news for the sport in Adelaide and Australia.

A packed out England and Brazil match phwoar. Plus a round of 16 which could be pretty tasty.

Would love for travelling English fans to turn up in numbers and put on a show.

Wish I was there for it.

Lucky buggers.
I'm envious.

I kept hinting that it would be a good time to visit Oz again but my wife was cool towards the idea.
My trump card was the Austrian national team also being there but they were knocked out in a play off match by Scotland in extra time ...

I wonder if they are releasing the tickets in waves? Pretty surprised to see every game pretty much sold out.
I hope I haven't missed my chance!

Well this is almost upon us and it's fair to say I'm excited!

Big ask for 52nd-ranked team Panama coming up against Brazil in the first match, but I always love to see an underdog doing well.

I'm guessing / hoping Brazil will bring a big and boisterous support, as always - and of course we'll get to see Marta, genuine superstar of the game.

Big night for SA football tonight - our first ever World Cup Finals group game !

Hopefully the footy loving public come out in their numbers and show FIFA that we need to be considered a must have venue for future tournaments.

I'll be there cheering on the underdogs.

C'MON PANAMA !!!

Great night! Brazil just an absolute class above (as expected). That 3rd goal was immaculate.

Tillies found out big time. Look very average without Kerr. Lots of huff and puff but no imagination. Could have played for 180 minutes and not won that.

Must win against Canada now. Kerr will have to play, ready or not.

Even if Australia get knocked out in the group stage the tournament has captured the imagination. Full stadiums all over the country. England-China tomorrow night will be huge at Hindmarsh (would have sold out Adelaide Oval easily, imo).

It's just a shame Matildas under Gustavsson are so average.
