We are playing Iraq in little over a fortnight and we appear to have a number of players in top form for their clubs. It is looking rather healthy at the moment.

Yeah a few selection headaches for Ange which is nice. Its great to see Mooy continue his great form.We are playing Iraq in little over a fortnight and we appear to have a number of players in top form for their clubs. It is looking rather healthy at the moment.
Surely Goodwin has to be a good chance!

Centre of midfield is going to be a tough one with Rogic, Mooy, Luongo and Amini all on fire with their clubs and the likes of Irvine & Jedinak also looking good. There will be no-one from the A-League unless Ange has Timmy coming off the bench.Yeah a few selection headaches for Ange which is nice. It will be interesting to see if Ange plays Goody as a left back or left wing as he appears to be playing the latter with Sparta Rotterdam.
Luckily for us Sainsbury, Degenek, Bailey-Wright and Spira are all in season so we have centreback pairings that are match fit.
My main concern is RB as we have only make-shift match-fit RB's (yet have a plethora of LBs for some odd reason).

Pretty happy with that. I though everyone did their job pretty well. Smith was a little rusty but he worked into the game well. I'm happy to see Juric get on the score board. I'm a massive fan of starting him over Timmy.

Great result in the conditions.
Didn't see the game but Cahill scored with his first kick after subbing on at 74".
I think I say this every time but away wins are almost worth double in Asian qualifying.

Massive result. Timmy the super-sub saves us again!
It wasn't exactly the prettiest performance but playing in high 30's with humidity will do that. We certainly out ran them. Next round has some big games in it as well with Saudi Arabia away and Japan at home.
Saudi Arabia is second although their results do strike fear in my heart.
2-1 "away" win v Iraq in Malaysia and a 1-0 win v Thailand at home.

Saudi's three goals in two games all penalties after the 80 minute mark. Make of that what you will.Massive result. Timmy the super-sub saves us again!

Goody and Jeggo in!
I think Brad Jones is a little stiff. He's a wall at the moment.

Re: The Road to Russia 2018
Hopefully Goody gets a run as the Saudis are playing a very old squad at the moment and his pace and tendency to take the ball deep and wide will cause them problems.

Re: The Road to Russia 2018
I expect him to be getting a run in defence. The choices are either bigger, less mobile players or younger quicker players that he's part of. Although Smith set up the Cahill goal last game very nicely he has appeared a bit rusty at times. Hopefully he gets more time in the EPL soon.Hopefully Goody gets a run as the Saudis are playing a very old squad at the moment and his pace and tendency to take the ball deep and wide will cause them problems.

The Saudi starting XI that jogged out against Iraq had an average age of 29.2, with the youngest player being 26. They made our 2010 WC squad look like a bunch of spring chickens.I expect him to be getting a run in defence. Re: The Road to Russia 2018
So the remainder of the qualifiers are to be shown live on 9. Huge move. Let's hope they get a few people who know what they are talking about and not Ken Sutcliffe just bluffing his way through a broadcast.
Hopefully this could be 9 dipping their toe to see if the HAL is worth bidding on. Although I'm not sure why they would want to go for it when they'll have a full summer of cricket to telecast.
I'd rather it stay with Fox if a FTA station isn't going to show every game live.
