Also we'll find out next weekend who the 11th placed side is from the NPL who will have to play 2nd placed State League club for a spot in the NPL.
Out of the 3 that could find themselves in 11th, they all have home games against opposition higher up the table than them.

Raiders (10th) vs Adelaide City (5th)
Modbury Jets (11th) vs MetroStars (7th)
Port Adelaide Pirates (12th) vs Adelaide Blue Eagles (currently 1st)

Pos Team Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
10. Adelaide Raiders 25 8 3 14 42 42 0 27
11. Modbury Jets 25 7 6 12 29 53 −24 27
12. Port Adelaide Pirates 25 7 5 13 36 55 −19 26

Im gonna say Modbury to gain something out of their game, Raiders to lose, and Pirates to lose.

5. Western Strikers 27 16 4 7 64 36 +28 52
6. Adelaide Victory 27 16 4 7 64 38 +26 52
7. Playford City Patriots 27 13 4 10 73 43 +30 43
8. Adelaide Hills 27 12 7 8 67 56 +11 43
9. Salisbury United 27 12 6 9 51 36 +15 42
10. Sturt Lions 27 10 8 9 55 43 +12 38
11. Adelaide Cobras 27 9 4 14 56 66 −10 31
12. Noarlunga United (R) 27 8 4 15 36 56 −20 28
13. Seaford Rangers (R) 27 8 2 17 44 84 −40 26
14. Northern Demons (R) 27 6 3 18 32 66 −34 21
15. Eastern United (R) 27 4 0 23 28 99 −71 12
16. Gawler (R) 27 0 1 26 24 126 −102 1

Results:
Adelaide Victory 1 - 2 Cove
Salisbury United 2 - 4 Cumberland United
Playford 1 - 0 Sturt
Gawler 0 - 6 Adelaide Cobras
Eastern United 1 - 6 Adelaide Hills
Northern Demons 1 - 0 Seaford Rangers
Adelaide Olympic 1 - 0 Western Strikers
Adelaide United 4 - 1 Noarlunga United

We relegated Noarlunga today as well, Seaford were also relegated in this round. They join Northern Demons, Eastern United and Gawler in State League 1 next season. Cobras need Sturt to have an absolute meltdown in the final three games to escape relegation, which is unlikely.

A crucial +3 for our goal difference

Cumby seem to have a similar run home as us so it's going to be tough to overrun them. Hopefully we do better against victory than they do

So a fight at the victory game is in the news! Yet the massive brawls at local afl games between large groups gets no attention

Zanizibar, didn't you get the News Corp memo? Sockah fans in the news = evil, violent, ethnic loving people that threaten the very existence of Australian society, a fight that breaks out clearly has a larger meaning and is representative of all fans, clearly a pandemic within the Australian sockah community. Aussie rules fans = just a couple isolated incidents where some banter got a bit too heated between some civil gentlemen and they had to duke it out like they would in the good ol days, to which the security guided them out of the stadium/ground so they would have the room needed to undertake such a tussle safely, isolated incident.

It was the second week in a row where it involved Cove if Im not mistaken, or at least the second within a few weeks. Its a pretty appealing "story" for the clickbait stuff they want. The actual article itself was pretty lean.

Be fair kiddies. They do report on violence at other sports, they just don't report ALL incidents. For example, on the weekend that Metro players were trapped in their changing rooms by White City fans and the ref had to call for cops to get out, the media reported on a fight at a local Aussie Rules game but not the White City incident. Similarly, the media overlooked the Salisbury fans kicking a Cove ground steward on the ground. Yes, they do like to have a go at soccer, but they have a go at other codes too, it's all just sporting violence to them.

Yeaaah, all I can do is say but. Putting aside the satirical nature of my post, I'll expand my point.
Thats local football you're talking about. I've seen plenty of articles over the years of any "brawls" at any juniors matches for any code. The papers are willing to condemn those types of incidents at grass roots levels. Buuuut, when it comes to the pro leagues, they're not willing to do that for the AFL that often, if ever! VFL, SANFL occasionally. Its usually swept under the rug. The A-League on the other hand, well, then its all news outlets sending out emails and tweets to fans who went to the game specifically asking if they saw any violence.

Reporting news isn't their priority the majority of the time, they want page views, they want people to buy their paper. How do you do that when you don't want to spend too much effort in journalism? "Doom and gloom" click bait articles. Not saying this particular article is that bad, but its more on the lines of "bad news is good news if you're in the business of making money in news".

We're going off topic, so thats the last I'm gonna say anything about this in this thread. I'm sure there are a couple others.

This

Although its not nearly as bad in sport as it is on reporting on finance and how tight a grip the realestate gurus manipulate the media.

Or when it makes the front page " 50billion wiped off the share market in 1 hour." Yet never a follow up headline when it recovers the next day by 70billion....hmmmm

Way off topic but the medias job is to SELL the news and advertise.
Ppl who slap the label of truth on the 1st thing they hear, do it out of ignorance, convenience or cant be bothered picking through a thin layer of falsehood to find the real truth, or possibly even another lie
The voice in our head is the final judge
