AUFC v Nix
I will be very interested to see what kind of crowd we get. Obviously it will be a drop but I hope some of the fans from the Pisstards will be encouraged to return. Should be above 9,000 over 10,000 and I'll be
As for the line up. Do we change?
Bowles has been playing he last few weeks for the NYL side. One issue we had defensively was Watson getting caught out too high I thought.
I feel Bowles has been steadily improving and probably deserves his spot back allowing Watson to pressure our midfield again.
Still can't believe Golec is in the NYL squad. He was amazing in defense early in the season. But he is young so hopefully he'll bide his time there well.
Also room for Serg who bagged a double in the NYL game?
So much choice! Kossie must not be able to believe it!

Pumped for this game, last week was amazing atmosphere and hopefully converted some of the "maybe I'll go" fans to go every gamers.
Tough selection choices, so many fit players McKain played 90 in the NYL too, he was playing well before his injury.
Can't see there being too many changes though after such a big win. The way we conceded so easily does worry me though. Our CBs are too slow, Golec is super fast, that could be a solution.

I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels Wellington would be absolutely shaking in their boots with fear of coming here after we belted the Tards.

I think our defensive errors last match may give them hope of an upset.

Re: AUFC v Nix
I'd drop Boogs for Golec. He'd take it hard as i think Boogs believes he's our best CB but as mentioned above Golec brings speed to the middle of the defence. The ease of getting in behind our defence that we saw against the Tards with the first goal was embarassing. Watson to the stands as well, unlucky as he's been playing well but i can't fit him in above anyone else. And Bowles is a developing RB so should get priority.
I would love to see Bruce start again, but i can see Kossie opting for Jerry. Can't see Zenon cracking the side either, but he'd do well against Welly so would be happy with his inclusion. I'd like to definitely see him on the bench.
I'd also like Ramsay for Kosto, but after scoring a brace i can't see that happening. If Rambo is on the pine, i at least want to see him make an appearance where he gets more then 10 minutes under his belt. He would refresh our attack around the 70th minute so can't see why he shouldn't be brought on early-ish. I'd even be happy with him replacing Dario or Cello if we have a decent enough lead.

Re: AUFC v Nix
Nash couldn't have written it better myself. That should be the lineup all year.
Zen is too good not to have on the bench. The only reason Barbs is there because I heard Kossie say in an interview that Barbs has been hard done by after getting a full pre-season under his belt, and then not playing much.
Hence why Kossie has opted him to get a spot above Zen. I can understand his reasoning as it's technically "fair" (Zen has been our injured). But football should be about playing the best players more than anything, and I think Zen is too big an omission to have Barbs in there.

I'd like
Eugene
Bowles-Fyfe-Golec-Cassio
Malik
Ferreira-Carrusca-Vidosic-Ramsay
Bruce
Subs- Izzo-Jeronimo-Watson-Kostopolous
Let Bruce, Ferreira and Ramsay wear down the Defence and then throw on Jero and Evo. Watson for midfield cover, or defensive cover can do Malik to CB and Watson into CDM.
No room for McKain, Boogers, Zenon, Barbs or Van Dijk unfortunately.

Re: AUFC v Nix
I'd keep Evan in the starting line up. Our goals (to be specific, our Worked Goal Rate) are highest/scored when there's a certain combination of players on the pitch: Carrusca and Vidosic in particular. Throw in Kostopoulos, Ferreira and Bruce and you're guaranteed goals. Throw in Jero is goals are slow, as he is also a part and contributor of that Worked Goal Rate. Similarly, introduce Rambo if needed as well.

Re: AUFC v Nix
We need to start players on Current form and not past achievements, Bruce has done enough to warrant a start, so has Evan and Currusca. Jeronimo might be better left as an impact player just because he Nix are going to target him hard for some crunching tackles early on, last thing we need is for him to get injured, sub him on at 70 minutes and watch him unlock the defense. Boogs will start as well as Fyfe but if we are ahead McKain might get a start on 75-80 minutes to ease him
Back in to the team. If Dario is tired or injured probably bring on Barbs.

I'm glad kossie is the one with this headache and not me
I'd probably change the side to much because I'd be paranoid.
