He looks great defensively in the clips. Cross fingers he is a keeper.

Also sounds like coolen is looking at someone else besides Keenan in January.

Pantelis has a two year deal and we'd be crazy not to sign reid. I think Keenan will stay. Rini likes his flexibility.

Need a striker. Don't forget Boogard will be back soon

I'd still like to think we'll sign a big prick of CB to partner Fyfe too as well as a striker. Cornthwaite is serviceable and I guess Boogs would be of a similar standard, but we've not been the same back there since Ognenovski left.

Luke DeVere would be good, future Socceroo imo.

Anyone know when his contract is up with the Roar?

who says reid or hughes needs to go ? whats wrong with a bit of competition, also hughesy would be a trump card coming off the bench 1-0 up away from home

i love the faact this guy is only 24, he has come here to make a name for himself much like flores, he is NOT someone coming here for a final payday, this makes me one happy fan that this club over the last few years have made these type of signings.

interesting, was on loan to Panathanaikos in 2009 but never played 1st team.

so our visa's go like this now

Van Dijk
Flores
Cassio
Usucar

Keenan may still get signed for the remainder of the season , and lets not forget Cassio has been talking about naturalising so if this comes into fruition thats another visa spot.

Can we assume he is ready to play for us from the start of january? i like the fact its only a half season deal with option for more as it leaves the ball in our court if he sucks.

cant help but wonder how they will balance things up , we need another top striker, but a defender would be great also , there has to be a strong aussie signing coming our way surely, OG monster to return as aussie marquee? lol

i think you meant to hit this :D

I would prefer to see mullen/boogard partner fyfe in the middle with the other playing RB. Flakes on the bench....

IMO Flakes has had plenty of time to improve on his weakness (distributing the ball) and he just hasnt taken that opportunity. We played our best football with cassio fyfe mullen watson in the early part of the season.

Back to Usucar. Im excited with the option of hughes/reid/usucar on the bench great depth which is what rini wanted. more depth to push each player to be the best.

Gattuso-esque??

Lets not forget barbiero in there also ones we get our RB's sorted out and i think Cam watson is actually a central mid if i remember right ?

Also we still only have 20 players there is alot of room plus marquees

Good and exciting news, hopefully he blends in well and becomes a fan favourite like Marcos.

Does anyone know who spotted him?

So we know who to blame or praise!

I think this spells the end of Hughes chances of getting re-signed with Malik coming in too Rini has made it very clear he wants to look at ypunger talent.

I think the six month signing is a great move as well, gives both AU a chance to see whether he's worth keeping and him a chance to see whether he likes Adelaide and the A-league.

this signing makes me doubt that Keenan will take Shin's place. we need a striker. maybe we are looking at an Australian striker tho, hopefully not Griffiths.

*off to YouTube to check out Usucar*
aparently we have been, but he has opted for Wellington...

http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/a-league ... hes-climax

Griffiths Saga reaches Climax
"He had offers from his old club Newcastle and also Adelaide United but he opted for Wellington. Talks have been going on for six weeks now and it's time for a decision.
