Cassio to Newcastle?

Postby EdDog Wed Sep 10, 2014 1:41 pm

If he is legitimately injured then surely insurance is paying some, if not all, of his wage?

If not, it means he's not injured and just can't get a look in under Gomby. I suspect this is the case.

Of course which I'm sure in turn means AU's premiums are on the rise then!

Wonder if Cassio has a desire to go into coaching and if so he's started getting his badges? With Amor here and potentially the start of a more comprehensive youth program with the NYL team playing in the NPL, there could well be some opportunities for him.

Have chatted to him once and he seems like a lovely guy but I trust the (new) football departments decisions on whether he's suited to a position in the club.

I have been wondering about the possibility of Phil Stubbins offering him an assistant coach role at newcastle after this season. They may have had a good relationship while both at the club and if Cassio and Gombau aren't getting along he might not see the coaching future he's looking for here - 4th assistant.

What are you talking about? He'd defs jump in front of Valkanis, just like every other assistant coach who's come in

From what I hear he's looking at setting up or is setting up a junior academy. So I imagine he'd be doing that in Adelaide and would be unlikely to leave any time soon...

I would imagine he'll partner up with Cristiano and work for the FFSA part-time while doing something else on the side.

Val writes...
CASSIO is on the verge of a stunning comeback 11 months after playing his last A-League game for Adelaide United.

It's positive.
