Yeah an Asian player could be the 5th visa player replacing the La Rocca as the visa player in the A-league and a +1 player for the ACL.

I wonder if the Albanian striker we are looking at could be Mario Morina. Not the most inspiring signing but it is hard to find an available Albanian striker who is exciting.

Henriques signing probably means cirio will not play in acl.

Chelo, isaias and our cf will surely fill our visa quota. Id really feel for cirio as he deserves to be there.

Possibly although I'd doubt the club is planning for that yet. They've said there should be more signings in January. Although they'll probably be Australians.

Could be a visa player, if La Rocca is a true blue dinky dye aussie by then. Maybe we'll look for an Asian passport holder for the ACL and HAL.

Yeh i know that, I mean that we would be able to sign another visa player in Jan, possibly an asian passport holder so that may change our other visa player requirements for the ACL.

Having a little look on transfermarkt both Albanian and Spainish strikers that are within a realistic price range aren't high in number so unless the player isn't on there or has significantly shifted in price I think they'd be there. Where as the list of Brazilian strikers under $1m in value goes for days!

One point on the ACL +1 rule (which I have mentioned before). Just because the club can sign a +1 Asian doesn't mean they should. Sure if an Asian player fits a good price range and offers something no available Australian can then great. But signing an Asian just because the rules allow it could be an expensive waste if there is an Australian out there that can do a similar role. I think Ono for WSW is an excellent example of the value higher profile Asian footballers hold. Sure he was very good at HAL level. But his salary was $800k per season. I think the club could sign two players of Burns' calibre for that. A fringe Socceroo can make a massive difference to a side. Two should get a club well and truly in championship contention.
I am a massive fan of the +1 rule and it would be wonderful to see a high profile Asian footballer at AU but only if the club can afford it.

He started the season well when everyone else was out of form. But he didn't finish strongly. We all know what he's capable of so I'm not writing him off yet.

Carrusca's wife shared a photo of him and Jeronimo celebrating a goal together, she commented that he should return. He replied that he would like nothing more!
Who'd have him back? There's no doubt he'd play for the shirt!

Yeh totally agree, we've got that with Henrique and on an aussie passport.

If La Rocca was already an aussie and we had 2 visa spots available i would take him for 1 of them as long as we had a solid starting XI player for the 2nd visa signing. He'd come in handy when our schedule gets busy. Maybe we'll pick him up in January lol.

That's true although it depends on what system Amor plans on playing. If he's not after a Bruce type holding forward then maybe there is room. But IMO that demands more of the midfield trio which I'm not 100% confident they can deliver without help.

different player though, Jeronimo would be leading the line. i imagine Henrique will be more playing as a wide forward similar to how pablo was usually played.

Obviously players that I look at aren't who the club is definitely after but one player I like the sound of is Ken Athui from Heidelberg. He's 23 1.93m and had a very good FFV NPL season with 17 goals from 22 games this season.
