Re: If Amor goes...
Another fresh start... didn't we do that when Gombau came? Great stuff.

Re: If Amor goes...
The bigger issue for the club would be what if he doesn't go?
The best result since round 2 has been when they played a team constantly derided by the commentators as playing utter garbage and Adelaide managed to hold them to 0-0 thanks to an offside flag

Re: If Amor goes...
I'm slowly talking myself into the idea that Valkanis has actually improved greatly working under Gombau (and his work the last 12 months or so with the YT) and could bring back some of the structures and team spirit that have fallen apart this season.
So in other words...I've successfully hit peak delirium.

I'm finding myself doing the same. Surely it can't be worse than what we have now...I'm slowly talking myself into the idea that Valkanis has actually improved greatly working under Gombau (and his work the last 12 months or so with the YT) and could bring back some of the structures and team spirit that have fallen apart this season.

Or can it?

Re: If Amor goes...
Mark Rudan nailed it after the game after Amor had been interviewed. He can't communicate, how the hell do the players get feedback with that. Half a sentence in English- "we play good last 4-5 weeks" then spanish.
Valkanis could not be any worse, I mean 3 pts in 8 games including a majority at home. Signs are Amor is figgin useless as a coach!

Would rather Marti than Valkanis.

Re: If Amor goes...
I'm not sure Marti has aspirations to be a head coach.
If Amor goes...
They f*cked up with this appointment at the start. Should have had Marti head coach and Guillermo assistant.
Would have meant at least Marti could communicate to the players and media. He's doing it now already as Billy's translator.

Gombau went until Round 10 before he got his first win since the opening day. Will the club keep the faith in Amor for another two weeks?
we da best
Re: If Amor goes...
But that was because of the massive system change. My understanding is that it's supposedly business as usual under Amor with a few tweaks.Gombau went until Round 10 before he got his first win since the opening day. Will the club keep the faith in Amor for another two weeks?

Re: If Amor goes...
If the rumors are really true that Amor has "lost the squad" is winning a game or two going to change anything? I'm not a fan of chopping and changing coaches especially after a short amount of time but if the group can't play for him then let Pau step up and continue on from what we had the last 2 seasons. Only problem is we have spent no money on the squad so he will be working with scraps.

Re: If Amor goes...
Gombau's start was pretty terrible, Just about the worst possible start that can be survived, even with the alleged off-field improvements. I don't think he would have survived as coach without the 2 wins that followed his losing streak.Gombau went until Round 10 before he got his first win since the opening day. Will the club keep the faith in Amor for another two weeks?
That said, Gombau:
a) had twice as many points at this stage of his first season compared to Amor. Including a win.
b) had less than half the negative goal difference
c) won 4-0 in the game that would have been the ninth game of his winless streak. Amor just lost the ninth game of his (counting FFA cup.)
Re: If Amor goes...
It probably sounds really petty but during Joseps early struggles, he admitted to them. He showed a lot of humility and connection with the fans, I felt re-assured that he was trying to teach something new and it would take time, we were on board with a shared vision and we learned along with the team.
Amor lacks a lot of transparency and his consistent " we played well" " the fans need to get behind us" doesn't inspire confidence and I imagine similar rhetoric is mirrored on the training ground.
