Potential HAL marquees that are free agents.

I hope the league steers clear of all of them. We don't need more 30 somethings coming here for one last pay cheque IMO.

Perth Glory coach Kenny Lowe wants a marquee striker to finish off his squad as he looks to turn last season's weakest attacking side into a title challenger.

Another option for Glory could be to try and lure one of the club's favourite sons - Nikita Rukavytsya - back to Perth as an Australian marquee.
Would be great to see Ruka back in the HAL. IMO another one of those players that left too early and never really fit in to the sides he joined as a result.

Great potential Ruka had but just never realised it. Would tear the HAL apart still with that pace.

Melbourne Victory can today confirm it has signed Australian defender and Macdeonian capped international, Daniel Georgievski, on a one-year-deal.

Wow impressive signing and only 26. Australian born so I would presume won't take a visa spot. On paper a very good signing.

I wonder if he could have seen into the future of the postecoglou era with the socceroos if he would have elected to represent Macedonia still.

I wonder how many other players around the world have a hidden aussie passport ?

Richard porta
Ersan gulum

Fairly sure christiano ronaldo could snag one due to an apparent aussie grandmother

Hyundai A-League could be back on the radar of Joel Chianese after the former Sydney FC striker missed out on a contract with Swindon Town, despite scoring twice in a friendly.

I'd take him at AU.

Melbourne City FC is pleased to announce it has signed Australian midfielder Erik Paartalu on a four-year deal in advance of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season.
http://www.melbournecityfc.com.au/artic ... kb4p2x8gvb

4 year deal! Is anyone in the HAL on four years?
Good signing IMO. Apparently he was on $500k in Thailand so I imagine he would be on a bit at City.

I reckon they'll be similar to most other sides. A couple of key injuries and they will struggle as any other club will. IMO they seem quite top heavy and don't have a massive amount of depth.

I reckon City will be average at best. So many new faces. Need to gel yet.

Coaches are so important in this league and JVS is a bit of a question mark for them. Got them pretty organised towards the end of the season last year but not convinced he can give them that extra 10% needed to be near the top.

Once Villa goes also some question marks whether they'll have a gamebreaker that can win a game for them.

Think they'll be there or thereabouts though.

The only team I don't rate at all is CCM. Squad is pretty average and I think Moss is not a great coach.

Yeah it'll be an interesting season for them. See whether Moss is as defensive as he's been made out to be. I'm always happy to see CCM do well as they are a real battler financially but they're making it work by focusing on development which I'm a big fan of.
