Its just plain dumb isnt it ???

We have been lucky as we can watch our team play live, but imagine if we could not see either of our 2 cup games live and not be televised.

Why not have the stream as a "pay per view" type system if not being shown on foxtel and charge 5 bucks for the stream or something ??

Most of the streams i had watched live on youtube had between 5-10k people watching live !!! That was with little to no advertising for semi professional football.
Apart from commentators, Fox will already be paying for most of the expensive parts of running a stream. That is a camera man, outside broadcast equipment and people back in Sydney to work with the feed coming in from said equipment.

I think they could probably even do without the commentators.

I wonder with that sbs survey just coming out saying HAL fans are most keen to see AU and Brisbane this season on Friday nights our game might get the coverage?
Predictably, the Tuggeranong v Victory and Sydney United 58 v Sydney Fc matches are the ones being covered.

The romance of the FFA Cup, it appears, only comes under certain conditions. On Wednesday it emerged that clubs will no longer be able to stream their matches online, while concerns over the quality of lighting has meant that at least one lower league club will have to forfeit home ground advantage in the round of 16.

That is ridiculous that Olympic's ground is fine to play the Melb Knights but not for Brisbane Roar. How can there be rules for some and not others.
Its clear the clubs that aren't getting their game televised and now aren't allowed to live stream for losing out with sponsorship opportunities.

I love the concept of the FFA Cup but some of these decisions have really taken the shine off it, I just hope this is teething problems and in the future these issues will be straightened out.

My view is that while the Cup has delivered some awesome Australian football moments already, it's little more than a glorified preseason cup at this point. It is overshadowed by the plastic All Stars concept and has the feel of being un-organic due to its seeding and overly powerful hand of the FFA.

It has exceeded my expectations for the first year it's run. Obviously barely halfway through it but I've been happy with the extra football we're being treated to.

Sure it could be better but it's a glass half full for me.

The last of the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16 venues has been confirmed with the encounter between Palm Beach Sharks and South Springvale on Tuesday 23 September 2014 to be held at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

Great to see football returning to that stadium as I feel its perfectly sized for football.
Hopefully the Gold Coast public that want football to come back there get behind this game to show that they deserve another shot at it.

I really want to see Palm Beach win and them get a good crowd to give HAL football returning to Gold Coast some more legs.
For the same reason plus its MV I'd love to see Tuggeranong win but I doubt they will.
Sydney United is my upset tip. It would be great to see Sydney broken up a bit more support-wise as I think SFC just aren't getting the exposure they need across the entire city so if they can get their lunch cut in some areas hopefully they'll just focus on others. Although it would have been better if Syd United were a more southern club and not based smack bang in western Sydney.

I ended up grabbing a ticket to Tuggeranong vs Victory as the ground they are playing at is within walking distance from my place.
