Re: Graham Arnold Leaves the Socceroos. (who's next?)

Thanks for the memories Arnie. WC 2022 was all time.

He did need to go, but I am worried about the replacement. Popvic being touted. Would be a massive downgrade.

Re: Who's signed for next season

Happy with this. Knows the club and players. Has A-League experience. Just a question mark over his ACL and time out of the game. Most importantly though - a position we desperately needed filled. 9 is still a huge problem for us. Small wingers and forwards could make for a long season with few goals.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

Hmmmm... not the most inspiring of signings. A guy that MV were so desperate to get rid of they are paying most of his wage. Putting that to one side though it doesn't look too bad. Good age, played O/S, turned out for the Socceroos in WC qualifier only 2 years ago. What you can't put to one side t...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Not the player we need. Have a glut of wingers.

We need a proper CF / 9 and defenders.

Goody and Bart will be lucky to play 15 games between them this season so these are the areas we need to recruit.

Re: Who's signed for next season

We've signed a young keeper from SFC as presumably our third choice - Max Vartuli.

Re: RE: Re: Who's signed for next season

do we boo poppa in this case?
My vote is: yes
Boos are harmless, and part of home field advantage. Go to town I say.

Re: RE: Re: Reds to face WSW at ServiceFM Stadium in Australia Cup Quarter Final Showdown

I'd prefer Marden but Gepps X is good too. Looking forward to it. I take this back. Service FM is a dog of a venue Haha. I loved the venue but agree the infrastructure sucks. One road and one gate to get in. I got there 15 prior to KO and the line was a mile long, and they were just waving people t...

Re: Adelaide United v WS Wanderers Australia Cup Match Day Jamboree!!!©

You guys are right - Yull was very good when he came on. It's my high expectations of Yull colouring my judgement. I feel like I've heard about this exciting prospect coming through the ranks for near on a decade. Wasn't long ago Yull was touted as Socceroo potential (very prematurely), and had a su...

Re: Adelaide United v WS Wanderers Australia Cup Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Can't remember the last time we controlled midfield like that - probably back when Isa was in his prime. Barnett was immense, faded late but I thought White really impressed when he came on. Alagich is improving with every game and I think has passed Yull by now. Disappointing given the hype around ...

Re: Who's signed for next season

Popa to Sydney on loan.

Disappointing.

Probably what they were waiting on with Elsey.

Re: Adelaide United v WS Wanderers Australia Cup Match Day Jamboree!!!©

Very good half. Dominated and some very tidy interplay. Barnett a big part of that. Perias having a field day, and what a strike from Ayoubi.

Defensively frail still but very promising signs. Just a pity we didn't convert more of those myriad chances.

Alhassan Benny, Godwin Bentil, and Matthew Bozinovski’s trials were unsuccessful but Elsey is still training with us.

Praying for some fresh blood in the squad for this one. First 2 outings have been pretty unimaginative up front.

Re: AN UPDATE FROM THE CHAIR

Ned Morris has stepped down as chair and will take up an advisory role. Saving the cash I'd suggest. Also mishandled the Goody situation by all reports.
