Re: Josh Cavallo
The extra year is going to look like a bad bit of business by the club if he breaks down again or continues to struggle for form. His versatility would have made it just about worthwhile giving him one more year to rediscover his mojo. Bravo Martin you nailed it. He's not the only one on longer con...

Re: Who's signed for next season
We need a clear out so it's not all terrible but if we come back for pre-season and the Australia Cup and have no one signed then there's going to be a lot of unhappy supporters. We can't do what we seem to do every other time and sign a bunch of players 2 weeks before the season starts after the tr...

Re: Hiroshi Ibusuki
A disaster. Again. AU seems to specialise in this crap. As far back as Dodd. Cassio. Others already mentioned. Still, after the season he's had, Hiro was probably in demand. The club have a 'loose change' approach to transfers and wages. Think if what (who) weve lost this year (Gauci, Poppa, Nestor...

Re: Hiroshi Ibusuki
I'm getting sick of seeing players who have given great service to the club, being unhappy with the circumstances in which they're leaving. It's bound to happen sometimes but in recent memory Juande, Goodwin and now Hiro have all been unhappy. It just isn't good enough.

Re: Hiroshi Ibusuki
I'll add to the wish list a decent DM, 2 if Barnett is not fit. I wasn't the hugest fan of Juande but he was effective. Tunnicliffe has been terrible IMO.

Re: 2026 AFC Qualifiers
Some interesting games on tonight. Japan v North Korea is a game that is likely to be fiery (from the North Korean side at least, my guess is the Japanese will be just hoping not to be too badly injured). Another is Oman v Malaysia, a phrase I never expected to utter ( Malaysia have really picked u...

Re: Pride Round AU- 2024
Thanks for locking this thread 7G. The mods here are generally very reluctant to ban members as we generally have a good community here that is respectful of one another. However I've taken the decision to ban AndyJ, very few of his posts have been constructive and most of the time he only appears t...

Re: Pride Round AU- 2024
Gee if a handful of social media posts, some colourful shirts and some rainbow smoke is enough to rile people up this much then all the more reason to continue having a pride round. We have a long way to go in our society (not that I believe pride round was even in the top 20 reasons why people didn...

Re: Wellington Phoenix v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Yeah the general application wasn't bad. Fought to the end which to me shows there's still team spirit there. We're still just woeful at defending especially in transition. We created a bit more than recent away weeks but we're struggling there too. These things have to be on the coaching staff unfo...

Re: Sydney FC v Adelaide United Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Hard to disagree with most of the recent posts. Just on the owners, they're not trying to sell anymore. I don't know at a high level strategically, I'd have done anything different to them. They poured their own money in at the start of the year to pay off debts and invest in the training facilities...

Re: Who's signed for next season
I don't want the club to splash cash on big signings but I do want them to make good ones. It's hard to sign players from Europe in January so it didn't surprise me that we didn't do a lot but it was still underwhelming. I think Mauk was a decent signing and he'll make a difference. Dukuly is more l...

Re: Who's signed for next season
They're terminating contracts because players aren't happy and are asking to leave. The club's philosophy is they'd rather let them go for free than have someone toxic in the changeroom. Probably also good messaging to players when we're trying to sign someone on the cheap.

Re: Adelaide United v Macarthur FC Match Day Jamboree!!!©
We're not creating enough chances and when we do we're not clinical enough. Definitely rued the point blank header miss from Hiroshi. Nestor did shoot a bit too much but he was frustrated. The ref and VAR had an absolute shocker and seemed to have something in for him. I thought Thursday's ref was p...

Re: Adelaide United v Wellington Phoenix Match Day Jamboree!!!©
Deserved more but it wasn't to be unfortunately. Wellington have to be the most 1 dimensional team I've seen at Coopers. They had no intention to keep the ball at all and just wanted to counterattack. They may be top at the moment but I can see them either being figured out tactically (we played int...
